Corruption and Politicians
Global Warming! Fact or fantasy? Whether there is or isn't can still be debated. That is if those advocates who profess the certainty of it would participate in an honest debate. It is the reason for the so called global warming that is the real issue. Is it man made. Personally I think the reason is still debatable however I think it is a calculated attempt to extort money from the tax payer.
Insanity!...I just read a book by Vince Flynn called “Term Limits”. It is a fictional account about an elite group of retired Commandos who have enacted their own version of “Term Limits” toward corrupt politicians in Washington D.C. It is a real exciting page turner but in my opinion his description of the corruption is vividly true. Well so much for the book.
But the fact is once an individual who decides to run for public office first must have the financial backing whether his own resources or the support of a financier with tens of thousands of dollars.
Whether the candidate, is an activist or someone who just wants to satisfy his own personal ambition gets to Washington his life changes. He is now a public figure. They are taken over by high paid handlers and advisor's.
They are reminded in order to stay in office they must raise cash and begin immediately. They are introduced to lobbyist of special interest groups or as they are called, influence peddlers. They give the politician cash for their votes. This is corruption plain and simple. They and their party affiliates collectively sell their votes to the highest bidder. Their constituents who voted them in office no longer matter.
This is not the democracy our fore fathers had intended but it is the system we have now. This is our government. These are the people who have never owned a business or had to meet a payroll. These are the people who have enslaved our children for generations to come with unimaginable debt. These are the people who want to turn our health care over to non medical bureaucrats to decide the amount and quality of our medical treatments while maintaining a higher quality for themselves. These are the people who want tax payer dollars to pay for abortions as though it were an illness. These are the people who want to decide the quality of care for the elderly thus legalized euthanasia.
The cost alone for a governmental bureaucracy to run health care will exceed billions for their salaries, benefits, office buildings etc. But the spending goes on and the consequences worsen day by day.
I know in my senior years I seem to ramble on regarding my distain for politicians. First it is because of their abuse of power and the ease which they send our young off to foreign lands to fight and die for the so called cause of freedom.
I sometimes feel we have a government of, by and for politicians, bureaucrats, and special interest groups instead of a government of, by, and for the people. If not politicians then who? Isn’t it about time we have true statesmen who think about the long term benefits of humanity rather than self serving politicians.
